Desiring To Meet God's Expectations

Our Mission

Personal Transformation & Disciple Making

When we come up from the baptismal pool, we are a new creation in Christ Jesus.  We are called to leave the ways of the past so as to embrace God's will for the rest of our lives.  Some ask, "What does God expect from me?"  We have identified the following seven, Biblical truths as being essential to the development of our spiritual lives.  Our goal is to make these transformations personally and to help each other along the way.

(All Scriptures are from the NIV.)

Adhere to Sound Doctrine

II Timothy 1:13 "What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus."

Ephesians 4:3-6 "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all."

Aim for Personal Transformation

Romans 12:1-2 "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Share your faith

Psalm 96:2-3 "Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day. 3 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples."

Matthew 28:18-20 "Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'"

Start the Habit of Faithfulness

Acts 2:42 "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

Hebrews 10:24-25 "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Use your Talents and skills

I Peter 4:10 "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."

Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Disciple others

Titus 2:1-8 "You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. 2 Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.

3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

6 Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7 In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8 and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us."

Strive for Unity

Romans 12:18 "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone."
